How sad that Bruce has fallen into the trap. DB doesn't like it when I talk about him here, so he is most likely the one that complained. Funny though, that the same things can be said in larger, more public forum, and he poses for pics. The same info gets posted here, but with a couple of qualifiying questions added and poof, it's gone.

That would be correct. They were mentioned here yesterday but it was promptly deleted. Once they were 'outed' as to their real agenda they slithered off into obscurity. But after reading this months LML I now know that we have DB to thank for the clean water in Lake Martin.

Last night I made a post asking people how much the various marinas charge for boat storage and ***that*** got deleted in a matter of minutes. All I can figure is that it was going to come out that somebody charges less than the Big Boys, so the post had to go.

I address this to ot, because she is my friend. I seldom provide commentary on my actions, but the same people try to twist my actions into additional fodder.
Regarding the post that was deleted, the stated assumption about the relation of the author of the article is verifiably false. All that does is start rumors that are untrue. Then someone else have the audacity to continue to say it's true? Why would I not remove it?
Although the LML article being referred to was primarily about a family, the sarcastic comments on the post would lead one to believe the article was all about promoting accomplishments. Even if it was, I don't understand why accomplishments would be disputable as the sarcasm would suggest. Keep in mind, that all is not as it seems just because you read it here.
Also, I find it ironic that the poster doesn't mind mentioning names when he himself doesn't like his real name mentioned. I "Laugh Out Loud" at that.
There are a few people that frequent the forum that have political and personal agendas they are trying to promote. In my opinion, it's nothing more than hatred against the undeserving. Most evident when there is a history of this kind of activity from the same members over and over again. Their objective is to sway public opinion to their beliefs and I'm not going to allow that under known false pretenses.
Speaking of hate, I grew to hate the company I resigned from, but I'm not going on a public Internet campaign against it either. I'm not going to allow that kind of stuff on the forum. This place is not the petri dish for hate. To me it's not much different than operating a billboard business and allowing vandals to spray paint remarks over your client's ads.
Sometimes I wish we would use our real names on the forum. The professional site Linked-In.com and FaceBook.com use real names and that does provide a large degree of validity and legitimacy to everything. Those sites differ from forums in that the people that opt into membership and groups know each other beforehand. I've got some ideas for better things. I would appreciate other people's opinions too (by private message please).
So go ahead people and continue to bash the Nazi Webmaster... I have pretty thick skin!

I agree that using real names would help this site immensely, though I can't see any way you could do that without charging a fee. (That way, you could compare the user name to the name on the card.) I'm not so sure that charging a fee isn't a bad idea, either.
As for the obvious question "If you are so in favor of using real names, why don't YOU do it?" the answer is simple: everybody using real names is a good idea; me being the ONLY one to use a real name would just be stupid.
As for the deleted post that started this thread, I read it, and I don't recall any specific names being used. People were mentioned and figuring out who they were wasn't hard, but I don't remember seeing any names anywhere in the thread. But I probably didn't see every reply before the zapping, so maybe names were used in one of them.

Any names mentioned were repeated from the LML article. If it is true that it 'was about a family' then why was it put in the article that we have DB to thank the clean water in Lake Matin. That is not about a 'family', THAT is about an agenda.
As for me not wanting my name on here, well if it ever gets gets mentioned in any thing but a defamotory post we will see what my reaction is.

Exactly. And some of these agendas are considered acceptible?
America is Bipartisan for a reason. If ones side cans't be openly disputed then "Bipartisanship" is thrown out the window. I do agree that "personal" attacks are not the way to present a case, but if the case cannot be presented openly then the agenda becomes assumed to be supported by the one in control.
It would better suit everyone here if personal attacks were removed, but opinions or statements against an organization should be welcomed because it tends to keep said organization in check...

I think what he has a problem with is what he claims to be doing or claims to have done to clean up lake martin’s waters or something like that........... He is or was chairman of the water quality committee for the obo's. In the last meeting minutes dated May 2008 He was not there and someone else gave this report, "John Glasier gave a brief report about OAW, Outstanding Alabama Water. Lake Martin is a man-made lake. It is not a natural lake. Some portions of the lake may not qualify as OAW." Wonder what they have been doing since then? All those folks that paid dues are most likely wondering as well...............

Or my -38 that I'm sure after you read this would drop to a -39. When you side with someone that most folks don’t like or you point out someone’s mistake or put them in their place your rating will drop like a stone. Fighting about what? There are NO polluters to fight. Well if you consider the problems Dadville had, I guess it is easy to call that a fight. But that would classify as a joke too. To listen to the folks here you would think that Dadveille had a plan to dump the sewage, untreated, into the lake just because of wealth envy. HAHA. They were just easy pickins to get your name in the paper and look like a hero. All of their problems were inadvertant discharges and did NO HARM to the lake. ADEM was aware of them, but did slap Dville on the wrist for not reporting in a timely manner. But folks here wanted their heads on a platter.
As I said then, instead of hiring lawyers to fight in court, why not donate and raise money to fix the problem. A problem every admitted did exist and the only hold-up was MONEY to fix it with. That wasn't good enough. That doesn't make 'heros' out of retired folks with nothing to do but shameless self promotion.

There were several 'members' who were banned. I was just one, and the 'attacks' were at me. I simply responded, as I ALWAYS will, with a scorched earth policy. Then the 'others' didn't like it. To bad, so sad. I was the only one who was not eventually given his ID back however. Many say it because I violated the 'rules' by immediatley creating and using another alias. Guilty as charged. I have never denied it. The 'others' however have tried to deny that they did the same thing. THEY LIED. I know what those aliases are. It is Bruces' world, I just play in it. If he wishes to continue to black the other alias, I will continue to use this one. It is funny however, that attacks on me are fine with him, but mine are not allowed. What joke it has become. Some say that LTL and I are one in the same, which is so wrong. I've meet him and think he is a great guy, has a place on the lake not too far from mine, and hope to have a get together with him again this summer. He has a lot of knowledge of the lake and the surrounding area and those that do not could learn a lot from him. Aliases don't mean a thing in most cases, his had a true meaning because he has been here a lifetime. I read all the post back then that got those three members banned from the forum, Bruce was wrong to ban LTL though, one member that holds a position in one of the lake organizations, what a joke that is, attacked him alone with another member. It's funny that folks will rate someone as a negative, put them on ignore but not log in so as to still be able to read what they have to say, have seen folks that claimed to have him on iggy but still post replies to his post, you can only do that by logging in and taking him off iggy to make the post, then they would put him back....... I think Bruce should make it so the only way to read the forum is to log in, only allow you to put someone on ignore once, if you want to then take them off only he could do so and would not allow you to put them back on ignore, the ratings thing is a joke and should be redone with some sort accountability system, show folks how you rate them and why, just my two cents worth, see ya!
