Due to continuing dry conditions, a variance has been approved to fill Martin above normal rule curve elevation. Lake elevations are always subject to change, depending on conditions.

Special Operations Message
Effective - 2/27/2009

The National Weather Service is forecasting heavy rainfall across the state today and into Saturday, with a heavy concentration of that rainfall predicted to impact areas where Alabama Power Company Reservoirs are located. As a result, flood control operations are possible on the Coosa and Tallapoosa reservoirs.

I have never understood the dooms day worshipers. It gets old hearing whiners cry about the lake filling to slow, property loosing value, and the USA never being the same. The world is what one makes of it. If there is something a person can do to make it better, they should concentrate on that rather than sniveling.

....bring on the warm days and quiet relaxation; life is good.

Does this mean they are letting water out because they are afraid it will fill 8 feet from the rain?

No, I believe it means they are letting zero water out for days. Normally there is an hour by hour breakdown of production. Now it says zero for the next three days. Should be good for lake level.
