Christopher's in Auburn is moving to the lake, where the Cove at Blue Creek was previously. From what I hear they will be serving breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Did the Cove close?

Not sure about the Cove, but here is a link:

Great location, Oscar's needs some competition.

Good is always subjective. I don't know how the one at Blue Creek will be, but the one in Opelika is very, very, VERY fancy. It's the sort of place that I wouldn't feel comfortable going to after a day on the lake, and they wouldn't let me in anyway.

I wouldn't be surprised if it did better business during the week than on weekends. Unless of course they relax their standards for the lake.

I am with you Sam, give me shorts, flip flops and good food instead of "atmosphere". They say that "there is even a place to dock your boat or other recreational vehicle" - depending on the water level and your RV - might want to watch where you dock.

I was just going to say, judging by their trivia question on the URL, I would say they will be a fine dining establishment. Hopefully, they will be a fine dining place with a sensible dress code. Every place doesn't have to be shorts and flip flops, but most people seem to come to the lake to be relaxed and laid back.
And most can enjoy excellent fine food no matter how they are dressed.

A bunch of us tried the new dinner menu at Green Valley and WOW.
"The Rock" was crabcakes and filet stacked on top of each other, Surf and Turf was amazing, sauteed crabclaws, shrimp etoufee were the things we tried. All under $20.00 All VERY good. We'd had lunch there but dinner was a very nice surprise.

Yup, it is about an hour by pontoon boat from our cabin, so I don't believe I'd be wearing a tux, no matter how "fine" the dining might be.

Now if I could just find someone to swap me a 115 for the 80....I might make it a little faster.

My wife and I went last Friday night and then took friends back on Saturday night when the band was there. We love the new menu. Very very good food and service and the prices are great. They don't have a bar, but a pretty decent beer and wine selection. You guys out there looking for good food need to give it a try

If we were to travel by boat, would we go to Blue Creek Marina and then figure it out from there? We are a Parker Creek family and thus east-side-of-the-lake challenged....thanks...:-)

If you are going to Christophers by pontoon I doubt you can get under the bridge at hwy. 49, especially if the lake is full.

Yes. The Cove or Christophers is on hwy. 49 at the bridge just south of Oskars.

Judging from the menu, this place will not hurt Oscar's at all. Prices are out of this stratosphere. Not the type of place for " lake crowd ". We will probably try it out in June for our 40 th aniversary.

However, comma.. You are not going to get a moderately low to medium profile boat under the HWY 49 bridge this time of year and the Cove boat slips are above the bridge... not enuff head room.. I have to duck now with my bass boat.. might be able to park at blue creek marina and walk across the bridge.. Suggest you get a second opinion, or check it out before you drive your boat this far.. Sorry to see the Cove close.. never disappointed with the food, staff or service.. ..

Not far. Just across the bridge - less than 200 yards.

Thanks. I just brought up their web site, and they are definitely proud of their food.....and it also says they are "moving" to the lake, indicating the Auburn store will close.

Will be interesting to see if they can sustain, charging those prices.

Dont worry, have no fear, we know that we are at the lake. Our menu will be altered to satisfy a more casual atmosphere. Our food prices and choices will be geared toward a more laid back crowd. We are up here to please every individual, reguardless of their dress, style and taste. We are all about you and your guests having nothing but a wonderful time while visiting Christopher! We look foward to getting to know everyone at the lake, and you have our word that we will go over and above to provide superb service, food, and atmosphere!

that the cove closed. Our Lake houst is right across the bridge. I drove over there on Saturday for my 41st and saw the sign that they will be opening on April 2nd. Didn't know it was opening under a new name.

You could get a lot of initial business if you would post an online menu showing your prices (as best you can) so prospective customers can get an idea of price. I have been to the Opelika restaurant, and the food is great, but not inexpensive. To belay these fears, an online menu might bring in the people, like me, who think it may be too pricey for the lake, and never give it a try.
Thanks

Chris, welcome to THE LAKE.....it is great that you are so convient...my only suggestion for re-vamping the Cove is new chairs....they were not so comfortable.I'll be looking for some comfy chairs when I drop in....Good Luck, E
