I've started a facebook page for people that want to associate faces and names to their alias on the Lake Martin forum. Only people willing to show their name and face may join the group. The group will remain private from non-members. If you want to join, set up a facebook page with picture. After that, contact me through my forum email link with your name, alias, email address, and your location on the lake (or your connection with Lake Martin).

Might be easier to set up a yahoo group, you can still control access as the owner on who joins.

It's already up and running and it seems to be working well. Facebook is quick and easy to join; just go to www.facebook.com. My kids (and an old friend) got me started on facebook a few weeks ago, and it's really a nice tool for looking up old friends and to use as a virtual gathering place. I can see why it's popularity has exploded over the last several months.

I used to think it was just for kids but now the over 30 crowd outnumbers the under on FB. Plus it is a lot easier to add photos, videos, links, etc. on facebook.

New users just be sure to click and edit your own profile so that you can select how muvh of your info and photos that you allow the pulic to see. You can fix it where only "friends" (people that you mutualy agree are friends) can see your info. So if you want to be private, it's easy to control.

By the way other good "social media" sites are twitter (small bursts of timely info only from people / companies you care about) and also Flickr. Flickr is a photo sharing site that allows you to upload, view, and share pictures. I am going to get a flickr group going for LM because I think there are a lot of good pics of LM out there to share.

LMAO, now I need to get that thought out of my brain...Cat would have definitely been one of the ten, but he's either lost in cyberspace or working too much to allow computer lessons from his son.

I'm happy to say we now have several in the "princess" category.
