A couple of the weed killers that I have on hand suggest not using around the lake. Any one have a suggestion on a lake-friendly brand? Have empire zoysia here. Thanks in advance,

Google " weed killer for lakes ". Will find several, have not tried any. Find one that works, please post. Good Luck!!

The best is pre-emergent control in the spring and fall. Many of the weeds you see now are winter weeds that will die out soon.

The best control is round-up but you will get collateral damage and a little phosphate run-off. If you usee the pre-emerge you won't get weeds in the dead spots. Otherwise remember all herbicides are dangerous.

Whatever you do FOLLOW THE LABELING!

Eraser AQ -- it is a complete kill so do not let any get on desireable vegetation. I think you can find it at Floyd's in Dadeville. It works very well.

Same active ingredients as roundup only cheaper.

Agree rr. I think some of the surfactants used in RoundUp are the issue for use around water. as you indicated Eraser AQ, regular Eraser and RoundUp all use glyphosate as the active ingredient.
