Just in time for the Messiah to further wreck the U.S. economy to combat the phony global warming issue. To wit, the following very recent headlines:

Green Bay Breaks 1943 Cold Record

North Dakota Sees First June Snowfall in 60 Years

There are similar headlines every week all across the U.S. Point being is that CO2 levels are up and yet we have been cooling for the last 10 years. If there is a direct correlation then why the contradiction? Simple answer: CO2 levels have little, if anything to do with climate change. CO2 represents only a portion of 1% of gases in the atmosphere and when compared to water vapor (by far the largest greenhouse gas on a percent basis) it is inconceivable except to the most die hard global warming nuts that it has caused climate change to occur.

As an FYI, with all the recent record cooling news it is I am sure an inconvenient truth that sunspot activity is very, very low right now. Imagine that, our global temps are impacted by the sun. Who would have thought?!?!?

The sun is causing global warming? Imagine that. Will we be placing a tax on those using the sun? So that will be a tax on the use of solar energy?

Here is a good place to take this discussion. See the link below:

Ther is "Weather" and ther is "climate". They are related but not the same. Look 'em up MM.

Hey Archie, given that I have a Master's in Geophysics I think I understand the difference between weather and climate like I assume you know the difference between a door and a window. If you read my post you will see that I pointed out the inconvenient fact that the CLIMATE has been cooling over the last decade and that recent WEATHER patterns are consistent with that macro observation. I also pointed out that the CLIMATE appears to be responding to lower sunspot activity while the WEATHER patterns in various places are consistent with that CLIMATE observation. I won't even get into an explanation of el Nino and la Nina and their impact on the CLIMATE resulting in various WEATHER patterns across the globe.

I know the vast majority of the other readers here understood my point but I typed real slow for Archie so he could understand.

By the way, today's WEATHER headline is that portions of the U.S. will not have a summer this year. Sigh....it's like shooting fish in a barrel. And you wonder why the derision arguing with liberals.....

MM, sorry, but 10 years does not a climate or a climate change make.

I understand that the charts that AlGor used showed a greater increase in global temperatures in recent history than in those farther back in time. I also understand that when his forecast was worked backwards, it proved to be flawed. I am glad that the glaciers are no longer covering Lake Martin, because I Love Summer (go figure). If the prior periods of global warming were caused by dinosaur flatulence - line me up to cook for them, if they were caused by meteor strikes – help me build a big electromagnet. Sit back and enjoy it. Until we are incinerated by nuclear firestorm, humans will not have that big an impact on our climate.

Before all you climate experts pop off perhaps you should do a little research (I'm talking to you MM). Check out info from NOAA, Columbia Univ. and the UK gov metoffice. It seems that the report of a global cooling is based to a large extent from info put forth by a meteorologist (weather man) not a climate scientist (or a geophysicist for that matter) and it was published in the Old Farmers Almanac. The base year was 1998 which was the warmest year on record. 1998 was also an el nino year ehich tends to warm the Pacific where much "weather" is born. 1998 was followed by several unusually cool years (weather variations, not climate variations). Later in the decade we had a la nina cycle which tends to bring cooler "weather". Even so, the UK metoffice has calculated a slight increase (.01C) for the decade 1998 through 2008. 2007 was the second warmest year on record globally. The last 5 years has seen considerably greater
increases in the annual mean global temps. So MM if you want to get your science from The Old Farmers Almanac go ahead. And the rest of you deniers if you want to get your science from MM go ahead. If all of you want to get your science from the politicians an preachers go ahead. I think I'll keep getting my science from the scientists.

Just ask OwlGore. The NOAA and the NWS and several other agencies have been brought to task for reporting BOGUS numbers. Recording stations next to fire barrels, in PAVED parking lots, etc. In one instance August numbers where repeated for Sept and Oct for reporting purposes. Then they just left the bogus data in the database becasue "bad data is better than no data".

Remember:

OwlGore didn't invent the internet, but he did make up global warming.

Again, I get my science from the scientists. You are free to get your's from Neil Boortz and Fox news if that what you want. Oh, You look good with your head in the sand.

What would be the interpretation of this graph, by scientist, by Bortz, by Fox, by MSNBC, by MM, by archie?

If you think the information in the link you provided debunks global warming I think you need to take a closer look. Especially at the map that shows that most of the US has warmed 1 to 4 degrees in the 20th century.

Oh, I just checked the map again. Believe it or not northern Alabama actually went down 1/2 degree between 1900 and 2000. So now I understand, in your world global warming isn't a problem.
