Bruce

Will we have spell check at some point in the future? Even though I try to check myself before posting, some of my comments look as if I finished the third grade.

Help me and others!

The Google tool bar has a spell check that works with the Forum.

Type your post in Word, spell check it, and then cut and paste it into the forum.

It also collects TONS of data on you. Beware. I was using it a couple of years ago till I found out what all it was doing.

I understand that it collects information on certain LM members and forwards it to their forum nemesis.

I was doing that LONG before Google Tool Bar existed.

I had this on my to-do list but it was a low priority because there are workarounds available (toolbars, browsers). I was waiting to see if Internet Explorer 8 provided a spell-checker... The answer was no. I think Microsoft is going downhill in their development and support areas. There are third party plug-ins for IE spell checking though.

I prefer the Firefox browser which includes a spellcheck and has other nifty features. With Firefox, when you misspell a word in a web form it underlines it in red like MS Word. I preach the benefits but don't use Firefox much myself because I need to use the "lessor browser" that 80% of the users are using. We did a lot of development and tested it with Firefox, then later found a bunch of stuff did not work in IE. Since then, we only use Firefox for the code examining features it provides, not the front end testing. The add-ons available for Firefox are truly amazing.
