Hate to ask this question since I see Cat Boat on here all the time (loved the article on props) but does anyone have any experience with Foshee? Just wondering as we are on the Jackson's Gap side of the lake. Thanks in advance for the info.

My list:
1. Cat-- Is not the closest, but after you have been to the Cathouse you hope your boat will tear-up so you can go back. And it is always fun to make a side trip to BassPro Shop and Robert Trent Jones.

2. Clearwater-- Great team, do good work and prompt. And an excuse to eat a pizza when you are there.

3. Wedoseado-- For PWC work.

4. Can't really say about anyone else, but watch out if there are four support guys for ever guy turning a wrench. Prices can get high at these places and waits long.

I am also on Jackson Gap side (Lakeview Heights, Manoy Creek ), I have used Foshee for emergency axle repair service about 3-4 years ago. Wasn't too impressed with shop or storage facilities. Might do excellent work on motors, don't know. I do know, no one arounds me uses them. I have had experience with Clearwater, Gregg and Mark are great guys. Cat is in P'ville and a long haul for me. Of course, all three of these make house calls.

Thanks guys...I feel a little stuck this time on the pontoon but I've learned. Where is Clearwater? I have a fishing boat that will need work but it will be this winter and taking it to Pville won't be a problem then.

I let Foshee do routine service work and a minor repair on my PWC one time and felt overcharged. I have friends that like him though.

I would call the CAT and see if he still makes house calls.

It's a 20' pontoon with a 60hp johnson. Unfort. it hasn't had much attention the last few years. It's my dad's boat and he keeps it at his cabin and in the water all year. We have family close by who "look after it" but no maintenence has been done on it. The prop was damaged the last time someone took it out of the water so it needs replacing. It was running okay other than steering funny due to the prop but when we came down this weekend someone has unhooked the gas line and we had trouble getting it started again. I doubt the plugs have ever been replaced either.

ClearWater Marine is located behind Chuck's Marina- 20 minutes from Dadeville- south on 49 to Hwy 50- ( Bama Park rd )- Right again at Chuck's Marina sign. Sounds like you need a good old fashion tune-up and service. Either one would probably be willing to make the trip for that one.
