"Gov. Mark Sanford admitted Wednesday he's been having an affair with a woman he visited on a secret trip to Argentina and said he'll resign as head of the Republican Governors Association. Sanford, a rumored 2012 presidential candidate, refused to say whether he'll leave office."
I have no comment. The message speaks for itself.

An affair is a resume enhancement for a Democrat. For a Republican it is a detriment to their political fortunes.

If they did all they need to do is switch parties......Dems love adulterers and all sorts of perverts, philanderers, corrupt, drug addicts, etc. If you are a Democrat these are all good for your political career.....
That Republicans are weak and corrupt with power and are punished is sad but at least there are some scruples left....that Democrats are actually expected to do the very same things and are rewarded with lifetime political power is sick and disguisting.......

Well, we all know this isn't a party-specific occurrence. Dem or Rep, they should all be kicked out if they don't resign. Of course, if that were the case, you Dems wouldn't still have Kennedy, et al, as senior members of your party, huh? Not saying that the Republicans don't have their fair share of cheaters, but don't throw stones directly at Republicans alone because it is happening in both parties.
I have to say, GF, that your Democratic 'holier than Thou' attitude is getting on my last nerve.

it must be male menopause which totally transcends politics. Maybe he should have just bought a red corvette convertible, like any woman would have done.
Guys lighten up. Sometimes you just have to laugh. I'm not saying that adultry is a laughing matter, but you have to wonder if this is one of those things that "come in threes" like death.
Any bets on who is next.

the real scandal (hypocrisy) here is not that another holier than thou family values type has been caught in somebody's bed, but that the guy who made political hay "refusing" to take the taxpayer's money in the form of stimulus has no qualms of using a taxpayer owned vehicle to begin his 4 day sex tour on the taxpayer's dime. I wonder who paid his airfare?

MM .... one thing I have learned the hard way is that you usually have data to back up your statements ..... but you've got me on this one. Who in the democratic party has had their resume enhanced by an extra-marital affair? I agree that Repubs pay a bigger price when infidelity occurs, but I can't think of a Dem who's resume was acutally enhanced by an affair. ?

Bubba's or Barney's career did it? And Bubba did it on company time in the White House of all places. While Barney did it with members of his own sex. Both are still idolized by the Left. Go figure.

Phew ... I thought for a secong you were actually going to put a thought forward rather than cut and past. Boy, you let me down (again).
Don't worry the republicans still have Sarah. She is off visiting the troops. At least Obama did that once too during the campagin. So I guess he has fulfilled his view of military service.

His reputation wasn't enhanced by the affair. It was enhanced by the Republican's over the top reaction to it. Maybe Sanford should invite the SC Assembly to impeach him.
