Anyone find a fairly large floating dock. We are missing one from Marina Marin. It appears to have been disloged during the storm a couple of weeks ago. Any help in locating it would be apreciated.

Summer Lover, Lakeplumber and Maverick have it. Might be at Swimmers house now.

If a missing dock showed up at Swimmer's house, I hope he turned it loose and is not keeping it as his own.

Rooster, feb said you were involved as well. Something about making a House Boat out of it.

Copy and paste from previous thread. This may be your floating dock,,,,, no joke.

"We have a rather large floating dock that floated into our cove this morning. If you are missing one, you can email at edarfields@bellsouth.net and we will give you directions on how to come get your dock."

I have my very own dock. It is easy to identify due to it's longer than average length and width and it stays up better than others that are the same age.

I guess that you handle your own upkeep then. At least no dock envy eh? :-)

Honest answer from an honest man. Naw, I wouldn't make a houseboat out of it, I'm a "redneck", remember. I would just mount some engine mounting brackets on it, get you to build me a supercharged motor and then I would have the "fastest dock on lake martin".

Mrs. Rooster (or Hen, I guess) would not like that.

Although having the fastest dock on the lake might be an advantage for you, I am not sure that others would enjoy it as much as you wood, I mean would.

reply to lakngulf- She would love it. I can hear her now, " I thought you said this thing would run! Come on, babe, shower down on it." She reads this stuff too, so I know what I can get away with.

Is your missing dock about 20' by 25'? Does it have stainless corner braces? Stainless steel cleats all around? Does it have 2 sets of graphite davits? Is the deck material that new non-rotting composite stuff? Are the floats that new urethane filled polyproylene space-age plastic?
Nope. Sorry, have not seen it, but I'll keep watching.

Heck, I'd be happy just to get a gas grill on it. I'd go to the rock and make a fortune selling burgers.

Hope you have better luck than me. Storm didn't get mine just some AH back in February. Had my name on it in obvious and some not so obvious places. Hoping to see it around the lake to reclaim along with anything attached.

What part of the Lake did this happen?

Paces Point at the end of Port Rd. Been on the lake all my life and had this place for over 20 years never any problems with anything coming up missing. Believe me, my first reaction was that it got away during weather but after a few days I figured out probably not because;
1) Lake was down several feet at the time.
2) The poles were still straight and undisturbed.
3) I-bolts didn't come out because the chains would have still been around the base of the poles. Dock and chains were less than one year old.
4) Had my name address and phone number written on the floor boards of 2 corners.
5) Reported and gave a picture to the Marine Police the next day after I discovered it was missing and have heard nothing since.
6) In 20 years any boat, chair, cooler, or float has always been taken by the wind and current into the back end of the slough next to me.
I continue to hope that it was taken as a prank and someone will find it. 12'X12', the sides are (2) 2X10 with a small gap between them, galvanized corner braces if anybody finds one.

about 12X12, poor condition, styrofoam floats shedding into the water, center pole for umbrella, no name, etc. I anchored it to keep from killing somebody in a boat.
1. Is this your dock? E-mail me for recovery.
2. How the Heck does one get rid of it????
Hurry your response, because I'm gonna' tow it to LakenGulf's place soon at midnight to make it his problem.

Thanks for the reply but that's not it. Dock was less than 1 year old all new construction including floatation. No umbrella provisions. Has name, address, and phone number on 2 corners.

I hope this works. I had tried to post a PIC back in March. I still see it in my PICS but it was showing as unassigned. I copied the shortcut below. Thanks again.
