more important to call Micheal Jacksons family after his death, but he did not call the families of the soldiers that died in Iraq the same day. Somehow I feel our president has his priorities wrong.

Well, we don't know that he didn't call the families of the soldiers, but that would generally be the job of the SecDEF.

But, the whole MJ thing is/was totally out of control. And if he called MJ's family and didn't call the families of the soldiers killed that same day, you are right -- his priorities are skewed.

It was on the news that the family of one of the soldier killed in Afghanistan was asked if Obama had called and they said no. When they were told he called MJ's family they got really upset that he had time to do that but not call them. It is pretty sad and in some ways disgusting. Hopefully someone on his staff saw the reports and got him to call the family.

On another note, did anyone read Obama's comments about the end of the cold war? He said, and I paraphrase, that the cold war naturally came to an end because of the actions of the people of the USSR and refuses to say the west won the cold war. This is one example of why he is so dangerous on both foreign and domestic issues. He is either profoundly ignorant of history or intentionally lies to appease. I can't decide which but either is wrong and dangerous to our national interests. He is ignorant of the history of the Great Depression because he is repeating all the same well documented mistakes of FDR and he is ignorant of the role of Reagan, Thatcher and Pope John Paul II in the collapse of the Soviet Union. Truly amazing that this guy was elected President.

It is just another indication of where we humans are in our evolutionary cycle. We will not even see our rights being taken away from us because we are too busy watching the TV.
