As you have to complete all stops by like 3pm or so, Starting at the Ridge, at like 8:30 to River North, to Blue Creek, to Real Island, to Sinclairs. So you only have like 5 1/2 hours to cover about 75% of the lake and in my old putter it would have taken 6+ hours.

Well it looks like fun but I have seen some of the boats on the lake and I don't stand a chance. With a 50 Gal capacity and a top speed of 54 Mph. I would be a joke.

Hell, at 54mph you will out run my 50mph pontoon and my wife start yelling at about 35 or so, because her hair is getting messed up or something like that, I cannot hear her for the subwoofer - LOL.

As feb or somebody said not about speed, it is about the best and worse poker hands. Plus proceeds goes to local charities.

Speed or having enough time to finish are no issue. Got third place two years ago in a 25' pontoon with a 50hp Honda, top speed=11 mph. We had four 3's, problem is one guy had 4 of a kind higher and one had FIVE of a kind. This is my favorite weekend of the year, always a great time for charity and they give you a ton of free stuff (tshirts, huggers, etc.)

I have done every Lions poker run. Some in a fast boat and some in a slow pontoon, once on a jetski. THE LONGER IT TAKES, THE LONGER YOU ARE HAVING FUN. Last year I stopped at the pool at WP to have a three hour lunch with a shrink friend from Stanford. Weather turned bad and I went to Sinclairs in a Mini Cooper. Won a chair and two gift certificates to Sinclairs. Spent the storm under a collapsed tent with a couple of Miller Lite friends.

A couple of years ago went on a pontoon with about 13 people and two Jimmy Buffet Margarita Machines. Stopped at a lot of docks and changed out people. It took all day. I got something in a drawing, and bought a fish made of wood and beer bottle caps for a donation.

Always enjoyed the Sweet Youngun's after the run except when rain got them. This year they are playing at a street dance Saturday evening.

It is not a race! It is not a speed contest! It is a good time for us to hang out and enjoy ourselves. Let's all hook up if we can. I attended a Poker Run on the Tennessee River 3 weeks ago and won "Worst" hand. Paid $250.00. Some of the Poker Runs at the coast have "Shoot Outs" that are speed contests, but are conducted the day before the actual Poker Run.
