I knew it was bad out there, but I didn't realize HOW bad. This is only one State..............If this doesn't open your eyes nothing will !

From the L. A. Times

1. 40% of all workers in L.. A. County ( L. A. County has 10.2 million people)are working for cash and not paying taxes. This is because they are predominantly illegal immigrants working without a green card.

2. 95% of warrants for murder in Los Angeles are for illegal aliens.

3. 75% of people on the most wanted list in Los Angeles are illegal aliens.

4. Over 2/3 of all births in Los Angeles County are to illegal alien Mexicans on Medi-Cal , whose births were paid for by taxpayers.

5. Nearly 35% of all inmates in California detention centers are Mexican nationals here illegally

6. Over 300,000 illegal aliens in Los Angeles County are living in garages.

7. The FBI reports half of all gang members in Los Angeles are most likely illegal aliens from south of the border.

8. Nearly 60% of all occupants of HUD properties are illegal.

9. 21 radio stations in L. A. are Spanish speaking.

10. In L. A. County 5.1 million people speak English, 3.9 million speak Spanish.
(There are 10.2 million people in L. A. County )

(All 10 of the above statistics are from the Los Angeles Times)

Grant amnesty to all illegals and then:

0% of warrants for murder in Los Angeles are for illegal aliens.

0% of people on the most wanted list in Los Angeles are illegal aliens.

0 of all births in Los Angeles County are to illegal alien Mexicans on Medi-Cal

0% of all inmates in California detention centers are Mexican nationals here illegally

0 illegal aliens in Los Angeles County are living in garages.

The FBI reports NONE of all gang members in Los Angeles are most likely illegal aliens from south of the border.

YOU NEED TO BE CREATIVE TO SOLVE THE CURRENT PROBLEMS IN LA. Merely sitting back witthout a solution will worsen the situation. It is quite pathetic as it is today.

It is sickening. To hear my sister tell it, AZ is pretty bad too.
When I lived in VA, our county had a high number of illegal aliens who worked in the building and landscaping industries. They brought with them gang violence (MS-13), crime and cramped living conditions. Several would get together and rent a house and 25 of their closest friends would move in too. Some legal aliens would buy/rent a house and have 2-3 illegal families living in the basement.
Our county supervisor decided to do something about it. Any time the police stopped someone that they suspected being illegal they could ask to see their green card. The Hispanics rallied and called it racial profiling.

Until they do something about our borders, start tracking aliens that come in legitimately on student or work visas, and stop making children born to illegals residing in the US automatic US citizens, nothing will change. We get no cooperation from the Mexican government either, yet we continue to kiss their butts.

I wonder if either party really wants to solve the problem. I really expected that under Bush we were going to see stronger enforcement and a greater inroad into a permanent solution. I never hear any reporters asking Obama about a plan to control it. It may well be the Latino vote is too important a bloc to enforce and pass stronger illegal laws.

that you made this post, because the first one, if an attempt at humor, failed miserably and pi$$ed me off.

The fact remains that the illegal aliens are trespassing on US soil. As such they are criminals. Appeasement doesn't work. Ask Chamberlain (oops, he is dead, so you can't ask him but the results of his appeasement of Germanyended in WW II.)

GF, please don't try humor, because your credibility on this forum is pretty low and you haven't really earned the right to try humor. Try to keep with logic (like your second post) if you want to get our attention.

I can't find any of these stats on the LA Times web pages & archives. WW please share your source of this info.

Thank you for your comment. As someone who served our country, you served to protect our freedoms. The right to be humorous is one such freedom. I have a problem with what I consider at times extreme and illogical positions taken by some on the Right. However, they have the right to that expression and do not have to earn it. Please loosen up and, while I feel it is a cop out, you can always put me on ignore. Have great evening and I hope your hot water tank issue is resolved.

We have hot water in the faucets, not the living room...:>) Thanks for the thought.

And I don't have a single poster on Ignore....to do so would significantly reduce the entertainment factor of the forum. I'll have to say many of your posts are entertaining....

You and your source ... do you know how to use a search engine. This is a forum that you share information and your point of view on a variety of topics. If you doubt them, then you can check yourself. But more so, it puts a point of view out there that this is a problem. Agree or disagree. But it is childish of you that everytime someone shares a point of view that you then post what is your source, prove it.

BUT ... this was sent to me by a friend in LA. I did do a quick search and within 10 seconds of searching on BING I learned that it was a compilation of things the LA Times said over time in various articles. And ... someone sent this to the LA Times to verify and the LA Times came back and said that 5 of the ten (not sure if my list had 10 or not) were accurate. The other five were "taken out of context" but were made.

So rather than split hairs ... why not weigh in on if you think there is a problem or not, rather than chasing your tail to check facts.

See his post a couple lines down the thread -- I choose to believe the above post was an misguided attempt at humor.

Why am I not surprised. I see now why I couldn't find it. Is your friend as off the wall politically as you are?

I do agree that illegal immigration is a big problem that would have been much decreased had the GOP crazies not destroyed the very excellent proposals from Pres. G. W. Bush. We are not Germany of the 1930, You can't simply round up 11 to 15 million people and ship them out of the country (I'm sure you feel we could, but I'm talking rational people here) and we begin to really solve the problem only by either building a 15 foot high wall with machine gun nests every few hundred yard from the Pacific to the Gulf or by taking away the reason they come....jobs. I prefer the latter. Make it a real crime to hire illegals and send a few CEO's to Atlanta Federal Pen and the problem is largely solved. But, then we will have to raise pay on the jobs that the illegals do to make them something real Americans are willing to do. Are you ready to start cutting grass, harvesting onions or hanging gyp board WW?

and, as that research showed, many of the "statistics" are misleading at best. (And, of course, many are not.)

I personally like getting sources. In fact, when I post something that I read somewhere else, I try to always post the link so that others can go and check it out for themselves. Is there a huge problem with illegal immigration in this country? Of course there is, and this a great forum to discuss the problem. But I don't think we have to start the discussion with "facts" that aren't exactly factual.

My two cents ...
