I have enjoyed it. Good food and variety, good service, good atmosphere. I hope they can keep it going, but I wish they would not allow smoking in the outdoor dining area.

We were there a couple of Fridays ago. The service was excellent.

Both of our appertisers were the best part of the meal. The tuna dip was very good and the battered zuchinni was the best I have ever had.

The entrees were good, although I was not thrilled with my grilled grouper. Lets just say it was OK and nothing to complain about.

The various salads plates on the menu look interesting, and I think I may try one of those (along with the zuchinni again) the next time we go.

The only complaint I have is the steps leading down to the main dinning area. They are steep and difficult to traverse. Next time I will consider sitting on the main level or outside, but the smoking issue mentioned by the other poster does concern me.

I too hope the place thrives.

I posted a couple of weeks ago that we enjoyed it and will return. Our waitress was super and I had the Grouper and it was good.

Our family has gone to HD quite a few times this summer and we must say we have had great experiences so far. We love the Onion Rings !!! We always get them for an appetizer. Also, the burger is wonderful. Salads are huge I can barely put a dent in them. Service is normally really good.

Ditto. We were there maybe three weeks ago. The grilled grouper was very good. Service excellent, and waitress really knew her menu. Good enough I've recommended it to several others. There are a lot of foods I cannot eat (starting with anything fried), finding an excellent grilled grouper is a biggie treat to me. Not much fun going to a restaurant looking for what won't make you ill to eat.

When I gave my 2 cents worth it was not very good at all.
I to went back and have been back two times. I must say the food is GREAT the service as gotten BETTER. I do see that they have made a turn for the good.

I too HATE the smoking. I wanted to sit out and enjoy the people and the view but just can't stand the smoke. I wish they would cut that out.

If you are sitting down stairs, watch the steps!!!! But that is the way the building was made.

Hope it does well.

I thought that was a requirement for every restaurant in Alabama...:>)

Steak or not we are going to reload this coming Saturday night and, weather willing, 'toon over there to check it out.

I have eaten at HD 3 times in the last several weeks. The service and food was great. I enjoy the atmosphere also.

Really like the appetizers. Burger is great....and where else could you get "waffle fries"....but that chicken place. My only complaint...I live close enough to hear late night noise. Really wish they would concentrate on being a really good restaurant and not a late night bar.

Where is HD?

It is at Anchor Bay, which is on Castaway Road off of 229. We were there yesterday and we had great food and great service. The Onion Rings were wonderful. We had the shrimp platter and grilled grouper and both were excellent.

We were at HD yesterday and they had a steak. We order seafood so I can not give you a report. They seem to read and react to the posts on the forum.

dvine is correct. When HD opened, the mgr posted a msg on the " forum " and stated he would read, print and then discuss all comments good or bad with his staff. Seems like he is keeping his word. Can't wait to ride down to eat.
