First of all, we don't know what they were voting on -- could it have been more money for Murtha's airport?
On the surface, this looks ridiculous and of course it shows the John Murtha in a bad light; but We don't ever see who is in the audience or how many members are present. Nor do we know what they are voting for. This is not an official Congressional record so we have no way of knowing exactly what is going on here and how someone may have enhanced the sound to make it sound like more nays than yeas -- too many unanswered questions for me to take this seriously.
Really, WW, you are constantly so skeptical of the Democrats maybe you need to apply some of that skepticism across the board.

If I saw a republican acting that way, I would cry foul just as fast.
Remember this is the same John Murtha that called two marines murders before their hearing and it was later found they handled the situation properly and saved many lives for their action. then Murtha refused to apologize for what he said.
It is what it is ... you can believe it was doctored, but just so you know he was later reprimanded for this situation. There is a YouTube video of that as well.

WW I suggest you get on the internet and seek out the goings on of Messers Hastert and DeLay in 2003 surrounding the vote on Medicare Part 4 drug legislation. After you find it I demand that you either condemn the GOP actions or that you shut up! You manage to spoil my day much too often.

Once again WW ... there is a nugget of truth in what you say, but you don't have all of your facts straight.

Actually, John Murtha has never been reprimanded by the House. In May 2007 Congressman Mike Rogers offered a resolution reprimanding Murtha for threatening Rogers' earmarks. The Dems voted down the repriman, almost entirely along party lines. If you have that YouTube video of Murtha's reprimand, I'd love to see it.

Actually, while charges have been dropped against most involved in Haditha, as far as I can tell the court martial of SSgt Frank Wuterich is still ongoing, and Wuterich's libel/slander case against Murtha was dismissed.

This part I agree with you, it is an unsourced, clearly edited video that gives enough of a view to make Murtha look bad, but not enough information for it to be honestly investigated. (What committee? What were they voting on? etc) Also, that video was posted over two years ago, so if it really was as bad as it looks, don't you think we would have heard about it from Glenn Beck or Hannity or Limbaugh? Murtha may have acted terribly on this particular day, but you can't really tell from looking at that video. And I'd still love for you to post the Youtube video of Murtha's reprimand.

No, I am just fine. Actually just got back from my friends at Springhouse and had a great time. Had a nice bottle of Casa LaPostolle Cuvee Alexandria ... may even be something a loser like you can afford ... only $53 a bottle there. I had the short ribs and scallops for app ... wife had a salad and the shrimp and grits. we split the black forest flourless cake with sauteed cherries for desert. then went to the bar and had two nutty irishmen (those are drinks). So now you have a little more class envey. We met many people that align just fine with out thinking.
But tomorrow I am smoking a Boston butt and having some friends over. Cheers.

WW you are priceless the way you think that flouting your "affluence" belittles someone else. I'll rise to the challenge. Two years ago my wife and I and another couple enjoyed the finest dinner Ive ever experienced at Taillevent in Paris. We enjoyed 5 courses and three bottles of wine with a finish of fine French cheeses very old port. The meal lasted more than 4 hours and cost...well lets just say it is the only meal I've shared that had a tab with 4 numbers before the decimal (and that's in euros). Now WW can you top that! And guess what, three of the four persons at the table had voted for Bush in 04 and all went on to vote Obama in 08. We were all together again last weekend and all four are still strongly supporting the presidency of Mr. Obama even as we all have misgivings and disappointments with some of his efforts. The consensus is that he is doing the most and best he can considering the political reality.

Actually I could with my many trips to Italy, South Korea, China and Japan... but who cares. There was no "affluence" trying to impress anyone. Just responding to an attack with a bit of tongue in cheek.
I grew up poor, and worked very hard to get to where I am. I enjoy my success and no I do not believe in sharing my success with others that choose not to work as hard. No I do not believe in equality ... just equal opportunity for all.

between you and me WW. I'm sure you believe your success is all your on doing. As for me I know that while my own work was much to be credited there was also a lot of my success that is due to good fortune and luck of time or place. I know many people who have worked much harder than I have who have acheived much less than I have. They often have not had equal opportunity! These people are every bit the "children of God" and "good Americans" as you are me and they deserve to be treated as such by you and me. I believe in lending a leg up and sharing. I'm dissappointed you don't.

People create their own luck ... no I was not lucky. I chose to go to school, worked my way through, took school loans, paid them all off, and through hard work, initiative, creativity, and maybe a bit if intelligence, I created my success. I give the credit to myself for everything I have achieved. Others have the same opportunity. I give HEAVILY to charities of my choice, serve on three boards. Two not for profit and one for profit. I put much more effort in my work on not for profit boards and there is no compensation it is out of my commitment to their programs to create "opportunities" for others ... not handouts.
Frankly, I think it is disgusting what Obama is doing to not for profits to even try to make them turn to the government. There is a great deal of stimulus being thrown at not for profits, frankly wastefully, while he eliminates tax deductions to individuals and is increasing reporting by non profits about their donors ... required if the non profit takes stimulus money.
This is really Obama trying to get government control of everything. One of the not for profits turned down stimulus dollars because they did not need it, and guess what, about a month after turing it down they got a notice of an IRS audit.
Coincident? Maybe. But I think not.
