Went for lunch Sat. I had grilled grouper and my wife had fried oysters. Both were very good. What wasn't so good, was all the dogs running around the tables. I know I could have eaten inside, but the view isn't as good. It is ridiculous to allow your dog (s) to run loose around a restaurant. I will not be back.

i agree--no shirt, no shoes, no shoes, no dogs--no service--the manager needs to put a stop to this; everytime i go i see a dog--

Yes, we were there for Saturday's lunch also. You are right about all the dogs. There was at least eight and maybe more. I love dogs, but all those pleading eyes while you are attempting to eat.
The food got mixed reviews from our table. The burger and the tuna sandwich were great. The grilled chicken salad was good. We were not able to get the zuchinni appertiser. The fried calamari received a weak review.
We only saw one person smoking, and this individual excused himself and stepped well away from everyone to enjoy his smoke.
We got there early (around 11:30) and there was plenty of boat parking and tables. As we left (around 12:30), things were changing quickly and a rather large crowd was on hand.
It was an awsome weekend on the Lake.

I was there two weeks ago and there were dogs. I like dogs, so I did not have a problem with that. The food was perfect for the atmosphere, and plentiful. Enough to give some to the dogs. There were two labs that knew how to do the cracker trick and would do it over and over.
The only problem I saw with the place is there were too many loud guys. The loud guys kept trying to outloud each other.
I think they need to start a loud guy section. If you want to be loud you should have to sit there. I probably should be close to the gas pumps.
While there at it, they should start a diaper section. If anyone in you group has a diaper you should have to sit there. It should be located just the other side of the loud guys.
Also if you are too tall you should be forced to sit in the back so as to not block the view of others. That could be the tall guy section. You can look over a fatass but you can't look over a too tall

I have noticed over my considerable years experience in restaurants that loud guys are most likely to be from north of the Mason-Dixon line. I have a theory that there is something in the water or the climate that causes deafness as I have observed them hollering at each other even when sitting at the same table.
To a lesser degree alcohol can temporarily have the same deafining effect but only on some types of folks that have been rumnored to have large intestinal orifaces, the cause of which is unknown.

I agree about the dogs -- and I love dogs. At first there were two charming bull dogs, but then 3 lab varieties showed up, a mixed breed tan dog who had a very sweet face, some other sort of small tan mixed breed and some other small dog with a rhinestone collar. It was never clear to me whether these dogs all belonged there. or if people were arriving with their dogs. One of the dogs was quite odoriferous. I was wondering why no cats showed up...
My SIL said the music was about to give her a headache. And yes, we are people of a certain age, but it wasn't the fact of the music, it was the kind of music and the volume She mentioned it to the waiter, who just kinda shrugged. I never really understand the concept of having both music and TV's on (with no volume). I realize music is a matter of personal taste, but maybe they should ease into the day with their music choices.
The calamari was the worst I've ever had (limp and greasy), but the hamburger, salad and tuna burger drew rave reviews.

I agree. Good food but to many dogs with their noses in your lap.

I agree with you. There are too many dogs running loose and the scary thing is, no one knows if they are friendly dogs or could turn on you, or your child, in an instant.
I know for a fact some of the dogs are "neighborhood" dogs and one of the dogs can be mean.
Wonder what the Health Department would say about this?

One of the things we liked about Dockside was that we could bring our dog onto the deck.
Apparently some folks are irresponsible and don't control their pets.
We would never consider allowing our dog to interfere with someone else's enjoyment of their meal. If we do bring ONE of ours it will stay with us at the table -- or if it doesn't like that arrangement it can go sit on the boat while we eat.

taught me that I was supposed to be responsible for my dog. In a public place that means you should keep it on a leash and out of other peoples way. But that would require consideration of other people. These days that's in short supply as I have seen people even let their kids run amok in restaurants endangering themsleves, other diners and the poor servers that have to put up with the unruly darlings. Of course if a server dropped something hot on one of the little twerps they would be sued.
