I was at Barrons Brdg area today and the lake went over some piers and move some piers. Some boats upside down. If you have property in this area or Blue Crk by Hwy 49 bridge you need to check your property.

Was it a tsunami or high tide?

Some of the precipitation maps show areas east of the lake receiving 8-10 inches of rainfall. My area had 1" measured west of the dam. Sounds like a pretty strange system that didn't move for 12 hours. Had no idea. Levels still show 1.5 ft below full and rising. Thanks for the heads up!

Good information on the Blue Creek area of the 49 bridge. We happen to have a house very near the 49 bridge. Thank you.

Just trying to connect the dots. How is it that boats are overturned and the lake went over piers when it is still showing the lake as down 1.5 ft from full pool? not sure I understand how this occured. Can you clarify?

I think during a hard rain event the surge will cause some areas of the lake to be much higher than others until there is time to equalize.

Correct. boats could have filled with water and flipped due to the hard rain. 4 - 5 inches of rain will fill a boat up fast if bilge is not operating. Couple that with possibly being tied to tight and I can see it happening easily.

Crossed 49 bridge at 4:45pm yesterday during the worst of the rain, I couldn't tell if I was looking at Blue Creek or Mobile Bay.
