Trade deals with several Asian countries and now the EU.  Before I take my victory lap I will say I am no fan of tariffs and have said so many times here.  I understood what Trump was trying to do and the unfairness of the system left over from WW2 but was admittedly skeptical that he would succeed to the degree that he has.  My error was forgetting we are the 800-pound gorilla when it comes to economic might and other countries had far more to lose in a tariff war than we do.  Their only hope was for them all to band together and tell him to pound sand.  But as soon as countries started to make deals they all rushed to the table not wanting to get left out.

Some highlights of the recent Asian-EU tariff deals.

- Over $1T in new additional investments in the U.S.  That's lots of construction jobs building facilities, lots of good paying jobs once they start up and lower costs of products given the significantly lower transportation costs.

- A reduction in tariffs by other countries making our products more cost competitive.  More manufacturing jobs, more jobs, etc. right here in the U.S.

- The opening up of markets for goods like energy which will make us the leader in the world.  More exploration/production/refining in the U.S. means more refinery units that have to be built, more high paying jobs in exploration and production, etc.

There are a lot more benefits to be had that will further expand our economy.  Trump said we would get tired from all the winning but I am not there yet.  Am happy to eat a little crow on his tariff war....probably why he is POTUS and I am not.
