Rep King and the witnesses conducted themselves, to use the Fox News saying, in a fair and balanced manner. The point was made from the beginning that the hearing was not about Muslims but the disturbing trend of young Muslims being recruited and that some mosques may be used for that.
Congressman Ellison gave an impassioned and fair presentation from the perspective of a Muslim...and got really emotional when he talked about the Muslim first responder who lost his life on 9/11.
The two ladies I mentioned railed that the hearing was against all Muslims, and accused Rep King of saying there were too many mosques in the US, even after Rep King clarified that his exact statement was that there were too many mosques not cooperating with authorities. They went on to reject his clarification out of hand and basically called him a liar.
You would have to watch the whole thing....Dr Jasser hit the nail on the head when he said that the problem must be solved by the Muslim community - that non-Muslims are powerless to do anything about it - but they totally ignored his pleas on that matter. The other two, one the father of the young black man who was essentially kidnapped and brainwashed and then came back to murder the recruiter in Arkansas, the other a leader of the Somali community in Minneapolis who had several close and extended family members kidnapped and sent off to terrorist training camps in Yemen. The fourth was the sheriff from LA County who gave very straightforward and even testimony.
It was obvious that it mattered not what was said - that these two Dem Reps were he!! bent on painting the hearing as being anti-Muslim, which it was not. Sad thing is that they said holding the hearing was playing into the hands of the radicals, when it was the libs' accusations that were much more inflammatory....and in my opinion done to further their own political agenda and status with no regard for what effect it might have on our national interests
Again, see if you can find the video and decide for yourself. I was astonished and severely disappointed. There were sound and logical answers that would refute everything the ladies said but they weren't interested in the truth, just whatever advanced their cause.
And the lies continued in the after-hearing interview, at least for the lady from Texas.
