Thanks to all...I was intrigued by the tapa place and we may try it some time.  I think probably the problem is that the restaurants on the east side cater to lake folk; the Alex City places cater to the Alex City folk.

My wife and I tried Trumans once...had fried shrimp, and it tasted like it had been in the freezer at least six months.  Never went back.  JRs is just a sports bar with wing/fingers/burgers, etc, and is unremarkable.

Cecils is the closest to having a decent menu but the service has been horrid...uh, no, that is too kind.  The girls that work there couldn't give a whit about customers...and the food is blah.  I was embarrased to tears one time when I had my customer and another gent in town - and wanted to go to Sinclairs but got there and they were closed.  We ended up at Cecils...what a Hungarian jug &^*% that was.  Food orders were all wrong and food was almost inedible.

I guess we can keep hoping.  At this point I'd almost wecome Western Sizzlin back...:>(  But the grill still works and the refrigerator keeps the libations at a proper temperature, so all is not lost!

If you ever venture as far as Wetumpka/Redland Road, the Ox Yoke puts out a decent steak.  When they first strted in the old Ezell's building their steaks were...uh....catered to a different clientele but they have really improved, and the prices aren't bad.
