Here's one thing for sure. If everyone puts up the sign pretty soon no one will notice it or pay attention. If you have a lake house on big water I can pretty much assure you it will be ignored as it should. Big water gives you nice views but comes with lots of waves. If you live in a slough maybe it will help but nothing, no sign, no mad waving of arms or shaking your fist will resolve the issue of inconsiderate boaters.

I have a house in Sandy Creek area and do my wakeboarding/wakesurfing in areas where there are no homes and when I am pulling tubes it is in the open water areas where the big waves from other boats make it more fun for the kids. But I try to move around and not stay in the same area for long periods of time. But frankly as soon as I leave one area another boat or two or three move right in and start making waves. That is life on a lake. Water=boats=waves. Always has and always will.
