I don't know why these guys even go on those shows.  They know they will be treated like that.  If it had been Obama being asked about his many flip flops I can imagine her question, "So tell me Mr. President, what was the thoughtful, mature and intellgent thought process that you went through to realize that your previous position was no longer in line with the mainstream of American thought on this issue?"  With a a followup like, "Have you received as much love and support for your change of heart as I could only imagine?"

These guys should know there is a double standard when it comes to the govt media and should just refuse to go on these shows.  You don't see Obama being interviewed by FoxNews do you?  He knows better.  Or better yet, he should study how Newt Gingrich addresses these gotcha questions.  won't make him terribly liakable though to your average low information voter.

As for Rand Paul, he needs to be able to answer why his views appear to have evolved on certain issues or explain why he thinks they haven't.  No doubt he is moderating his libertarianism for mainstream GOP primary voter consumption and I for one doubt he can pull it off.  Not to mention he will have to distance himself from his Dad's positions which will not be an easy thing to do.  He has lots of good ideas, particularly on the domestic economic front and no doubt he would push for a smaller, less intrusive federal government.  But many of his other views, especially on international issues, will likely not resonate with a majority of Americans.  If they did, libertarians would be everywhere in political office.
