I didn't have that problem but when I measured for the location of the flange I very carefully placed the base so there was plenty of space between the base and the wall behind. I was happy as a clam until it came time to install the tank on top of that bowl, a tank that extends a few inches farther back than the bowl. Fortunately by using every trick in the book and some that aren't the toilet is installed and not leaking. You can never think too far ahead when it comes to new construction!
