Yesterday "the rest of us" spoke loud and clear that we had enough of interest group politics.  We told Washington we are tired of being squeezed into some pigeon hole of black, white, Latino, male, female, Christian, evangelical, LGBTQ, college educated, and on and on.  Americans, faced with two awful choices, took the lesser of two evils, and if there is any silver lining to an otherwise ominous black cloud, it is that there are enough of "us" still out there that we can...and did...make a difference.

i am not interested in crowing or "I told you so".  Those on this forum who decried the possibility that someone like Donald Trump could  elected president are fellow Americans and deserve respect, even if at times (some more than others) they disrespected those of us who disagreed with them.

i am especially heartened that the Supreme Court will not be turned into a second lawmaking body and the Constitution will not be rewritten by activist judges.  

So let's see if we can work together, correct the country's course, and realize our vast potential.
