I highly recommend this effort by Peter Jackson to capture what it was like in the trenches during WWI.  Includes only actual footage that was amazingly restored and interviews from actual infantrymen which made a huge difference in its impact.  Starts a little slow but at some point around 15 minutes in you will be blown away.  And there is a 30-minute session after the credits about how they accomplished this feat that is well worth watching.
