VAT in Italy is 20%. Because they want to prevent an underground economy from developing, there is even a law that if you are caught within 50 yards (not sure of the exact distance) of an establishment and don't have a machine-generated receipt for your goods, you can be arrested.

As soon as the American people realize what the current administration and Congress are doing to them, things could get really ugly.
