More Trump winning and more proof that the Democrat party is the party of rapists, murderers, carjackers, etc, along with illegal aliens, alphabet activists, welfare queens, anti-semites and so on.  How many times has any large American city gone 10 days with zero murders?  Exactly once in the modern era.

My favorite was the video of black teenagers hanging out with the National Guard and thanking them for being there because it had been a long time since they felt safe.  Think about that.  Congress needs to revoke the DC Home Rule Act.  They cannot run the city and we deserve a nation's capital that is safe to visit and having a Union Station and national monuments that are not a homeless encampment.

Good to see the change in crime stats. Obviously, if you send in armed troops to patrol the streets the crime rate will fall. The big question is will DC become a city with armed troops rather than civilian police? It may become difficult to recuit National Guardsman who have to leave their family and civilian jobs to sit around cities 27/7. The active miltary in cities just make us become a 3rd world country like Haiti with troops from Kenya to fight off the gangs.

I think we have reached the point where we need Big Brother with cameras in the cities on light poles. Crime falls when you are on Candid Camera.

If I understand your question, the answer is that policing of DC can never be returned to the elected politicians. It has to be federalized for good.  They tried home rule and they failed. Then they need to hire more police officers to take the place of the NG.  Then they need to get rid of activist judges that let criminals walk without bail, given light sentences, etc.  In essence the solution is long term because it took Democrats a long time to screw things up.  

And no, cameras won't stop the kind of crime that is the most important. Half of them are already recorded on smart phones, Ring doorbells, etc.  Especially if those arrested get off with a slap on the wrist. The only thing that works is to send people to prison.
