The Marine Police had alot to say. You just are not willing to listen. Let me sum it up for you.

Point 1) This bill is going to ban boats that are 26 feet, 11 inches and a speed in excess of 60 mph. This would be a class 3 boat. That caused only one collision with a fixed object and three with floating objects. ie logs, floating docks, etc.

Point 2) Class 4 boats, which are 40 feet or or longer that resulted in only one incident that was caused by carbon monoxide poising.

Point 3) Class 2 vessels, boats longer than 16 feet, but less than 26 feet.
Oh no, 55 accidents. 7 with a collision with FIXED objects. five with floating objects and 14 with other vessels.

Point 4) Class 1 vessels, boats that are 16 feet or less. 30 accidents that included 19 personal water crafts.

Mr Bronson, that was interviewed by daily home, does this make you ready to get out on the lake if this bill passes????????? You just thought you were threatened by big boats, now you are going to be more threatened by class 2 and class 1 vessels.

Have you noticed that all articles in the Daily Home are authored by David Atchison and all have had the same anti-bill slant. Guess he's a big boat want-a-be. The stats he quotes only apply to fresh water lakes that are patrolled by the AMP. Wonder what the percentages look like, when compared of number of registered boats in each class located in the lakes. What about injuries? David Atchison does a half-a$$ job of reporting, if that.

Pontoon, stop polluting the forum--go to bed.

You obviously have not read all of David’s articles. David has only reported the facts, some I liked and some I did not. You want to bad mouth him for the one’s you do not agree with. There are two sides to this story!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just because yours is wrong is no reason to bad mouth the reporter. David has reported on fresh water lakes. You think. That is what this is about. You are one to talk about half A$$.

Dang dude. Just because the facts do not support your cause is no reason to attack the messenger. Get back on your medication and maybe things will be clearer tomorrow.

How many Class 4 boats are registered vs. Class 2 and Class 1? What was the average damage from a collision involving Class 2 and 1 vs. Class 4?

Taking boats out of the equation, your argument boils down to this:

1. No one in Alabama died from a Cobra bite last year.

2. Someone in Alabama did die from a bee sting.

3. Therefore, bees are more venomous than Cobras.

You're twisting a key element: the reason no Alabamians died from Cobra bites is because there are no Cobras in Alabama, not because Cobras are less venomous.

Likewise, the number of accidents involving any type of boat is tied less to the type of boat, and more to the how many of that particular type of boat are on the water. Fewer boats = fewer accidents, and vice versa.
