Lets do something about the house boats at Bay Pine. Any ideas. A patition, a gathering to express concerns to her, Help me here. Is there anything you know for sure about where the sewage is going? Specifics I could tell the health department. Anything would be helpful. I don't give up easily.

DOn't think so, Mr. LukeSkywalker!
I think Waveventure means business. Seriously we need to put our heads together and see what we can do. I think we need to all start by at least calling the Marina Owner and voicing a nice complaint "for the record" and then after that we can see about a petition. We need to all be taking photos when we see something that doesn't look just right. We may need the proof later.

Isn't their a holding tank requirement for houseboats? If not don't eat the fish caught at the docks!

From what we have found out - only if they have operational plumbing on board. You can go read my first post i made under the Bay Pine House Boat topic to read what Alabama Power told me recently.

If you aggrevate the houseboaters, you are just as guilty of whatever it is they are guilty of. This is how things escalate. But there certainly isn't anything wrong with casting up under the boats for a huge buffalo.
Check into a nuisance law. Most states or counties have them. They balance reasonable use of property with those of other prperty owners. We have one in TN and it covers things like noise before 7 am, after 10 pm, burning brush on neighbor's property and allowing the smoke to drift into the neighbor's homes, etc. Just use a reputable lawyer and not one just looking for a fast buck.
I don't really see the marina doing much, since the owners of the houseboats are leaving the generators on, and not the marina. Also might check with APC and see if the marina can legally allow this type of use under their lease (if they have one with APC).

"Just use a reputable lawyer and not one just looking for a fast buck."
When you find that the house boats will not be a problem, cuz you are living in Utopia.
J/K all you legal types out there! Couldn't resist a chance for a good jib.

CEO, the good ones are few and far between. I know what you mean. I've been had by some lawyers hiding on the phone who won't meet you face to face.
Kind of a simular situation with some realtors, I've found, too.
Sad, but just the way things work now days. JUA

I work in the legal field (no im not a lawyer) and from what I have seen, it is kind of like anything else. You get what you pay for. Ambulance chasers are out there chasing wrecks for a reason---there reputation as a good lawyer. . . well. . .doesnt exist. Reputable attorneys dont typically advertise, their reputation does that for them. With that reputation comes higher charges, but far greater results.

I have just signed a lease with Ala. Pawer. It states (not the correct verbage)that I could loose my lease by being a nuisance to my neighbor.

I hope they are pretty specific in their definition of nuisance. Like just about everything else, it could be up for interpretation. I understand what you are saying when you state leased property, but most likely the property in question is deeded. Anyway, Congrats on your new place.

The marina may be owned above the full-pool level as private property, but the houseboats are in APC's lake. Just don't forget there are legal nuisances such as the Kareoke nights, though. Defining one is the problem.

if you call, have your questions regarding what issues concern you ready to go!!!
she won't let you get far in your conversation, I called to verify for my self my two concerns. She wouldn't let me talk, she has caller ID, so she was so proud that she actually had 'a' name to talk to. Thinking this was some coup.
Then, she will just add you to her list of people she's going to file suit against!
I was going to give her my mailing address, but she hung up to fast. LOL
