Does anyone have any recommendations for dealing with the state? All paper work is submitted but my ADEM permit has not been processed yet. I was told it could take 120 days (it has already been 60)actually you don't even need a permit if you are not going to disturb less than an acre, which we aren't, but Russell Lands requires it.So here we are waiting for that final piece before we break ground.I keep telling myself it will be worth it come summer when we are sitting on our new lake house deck with our mile plus view. Aaaahhhhhhh!

Contact your County and/or State Represenative(s). Do not blame anyone, but simply request assistance as a resident and voter. Explain your predicament and ask for help.
You might be surprised.
If this does not help, then Contact the Governor. He has a place on the Lake also.
Good Luck, and let us know how you make out.

We deal with this on a regular basis as a consultant who acquires permits on behalf of homeowners and developers around Lake Martin. The NPDES ADEM Construction Stormwater Permit is now required for every home being built around the lake because of it's designation as a TAL "Treasured Alabama Lake". The process is usually completed within 45-60 days so long as you provide ADEM with all of the required documents and figures for their review. If you do not, it can take forever. If we can help you with your next permit, let us know.
