I imagine when all the facts are known we will find out that his parents divorced when he was 5 and he was raised by his grandmother. A difficult childhood will often lead to driving with someone on you lap. Just think without his union he would never have his minute of fame on the Forum. Cheers Hodgiee.

Typical union response ... they are always trying to justify their existance and the dues the "force" members to pay. Their are few states where if there is a union the employee has the "option" to join or not. Texas is one and also the lowest union state because even if a union gets voted in, many workers say no to the dues coming out and then the union eventually goes away. I do wonder if the union response would have been different if the driver was in an accident while distracted. If the driver had poor judgement as he admits ... he has had it in the past and will have it again. The only thing different this time was he got caught. Same goes for the Chrysler workers drinking and smoking pot at lunch that got caught and the union went to their defense that they should not be fired.

I wonder what the passengers were thinking while he was driving with someone on his lap. You think anyone stood up and complained? Got off the bus and reported it?

Of course the Union is going to stick up for the driver. That's what they do. But he should still be fired. If you are relying on public transportation do you want him jepordizing your safety?
