But, How many wooden (mahogany) boats are left on Lake Martin? I never have seen too many on it dating back to the early 80's.

Thanks,

Tough question, because I only go back 13 years here.  I have only seen two on the south side of LM, one of which was a Hackercraft that Alan Jackson was tooling around in with his family a few years back prior to Aquapalooza.

Knox Kershaw has one.  It is very cool.  For power it has a 468 cu. in. supercharged engine (we had the honor of building 6 years ago).  He is on and around the Kowaliga area.

There are some wooden boats out there on Lake Martin, but they are generally well protected and out of sight unless you spot one being driven. I have a collection that I have acquired over the last 25+ years and they are housed in a couple of warehouses. My collection also includes some very rare early fiberglass finned boats. They are all time capsules!

There is one in the open at Still Waters marina.

Alan Jackson has a whole slew (parodon the pun) of wooden boats on CenterHill Lake up here in TN. Always a treat to see one of them out on the lake. I grew up with lake nieghbors that had ChrisCrafts.... and we always were tagging along for boats rides.
