My wife and I are considering moving to Lake Fork from SoCal. We can't stand it here and are looking for more "like-minded" people (i.e no left wing lunatics!). I love me some bass fishing and I hear Lake Fork is the place for that. What are some of the better areas to live along the lake? We would love to live on the water, preferrably with our own boat dock. We would also prefer to be close to a city with shopping, markets, dining, etc. We aint rich, but we hope to have 300-400k to spend. If you have any insight on Lake Fork living, we would love to hear that too!

I am one of those left wing nuts you wanna move away from and I don't have any idea where Lake Fork is located. However, there is a bass fishing guide who has a website. I would contact him with your questions. I doubt you will get any feedback on the Forum.

Happy New Year and good luck with your move.

Lake Fork is in Texas, about a hundred miles east of Dallas.

So is that area safe from left wingers?

If it isn't Austin, where they are keeping it weird, then it's pretty safe from at least being overrun by left wing nuts.

Live on  Lake Martin, been on Fork fishing.   If you want to catch really big bass, Fork is for you.  If you want a shallow, muddy lake with lots of trailer parks, Fork is a good choice.  If you want a clean water lake with good crappie and spot fishing, rethink it Pal.  Liberals are like gnats, irritating, but part of life.

Liberals keep Lake Martin clean so the Tea Party can enjoy it.

Guess that makes perfect sense.  Liberals keep Lake Martin clean and so conservatives can trash it.  Come on now, that is just silly; but hey, you voted for the guy twice so the logic is consistent.

Ah, the logic of a crusty old BUFF pilot.  I love it!
