We have a Blue Ridge hot tub which isn't... hot.  Any recommendations/suggestions for a hot tub 'fixer up' guy??  Thanks..

You check the propane tank? Or the curcuit breaker if electrical heat? Just my 2cents.

Is the water heated from the same water heater that supplies the reast of the house? Or if (as suggested) the water is heated in the tub after filling, then that would suggest the heating device is not working.

If water is hot elsewhere in the house and supplied from the same source, then you have a valve problem (hot valve or mixing valve failure).

Talked to the tech toads @Blue Ridge. They tell me

a. it's the circuit board and

b.  it ain't cheap.

Deciding whether to fix it or pitch it and would like to get a pro to check it out.  I't a all electric deal  (240VAC) and  I know just enough to get into trouble.

Appreciate the suggestions, GF.

LP, it's all self contained,  fill 'er up, turn her on.  Replaced the heater a few years ago myself, worked fine.  Now the tech folks tell me it's a circuit board.  May be more than I want to screw with. Thanks.

It can only be one of the 2 (1) heating elemnt (s) bad. or (2) controls (circuit board) bad. Elements should be not too costly. If it is indeed a circuit board, try to get the manufacturer to replace it, could be a defect. Or if that does not pan out, get a picture of it and see what online prices (ebay & Amazon) cost. May not be as bad as it seems. Don't give up without a fight.

It's on the deck. Thinking I could get a bunch of shad and put out a sign for striper fisherman.  Forget the heater. .  Might gross out the grand kids, I guess..  However..  Still would like to get it fixed.  LP, good suggestion, checking EBay.

There is a guy here in Town that can possibly fix the circuit board, IF that is the problem.  Get some numbers off of the board, post some pictures and lets fix the HOT TUB.  I am in.

There's a place we use in Alex City that repairs circuit boards. They've done a good bit of work for some of our customers over the years.

My hot tub had a dead short when I filled it up in Sept.   I had a repairman come out to the house in Stillwaters and he said he din't have he skill to fix it.  I called the maker of the heating unit and they gave me the name of Cleve Murphy of Opelika 334 7499365 and he came out to the house the next day.  He had the equipment to check the cirect board and found the heating element was a dead short. He replaced the element and everything is now fine. He charged me $75.00 for the part and labor plus the trip out to the house $115.00. He knows more about hot then anyone I know and I've had four during my working days.
