I know he has a spectacular record of voting his party line but I can't bring myself to pull a lever for anyone that is 81 years old and wanting another six years. Obviously anyone doing such must addicted to the power and prestige. They pass laws forcing retirement on many professions they need one on themselves IMHO. I say 72yo and you can't run again, but what do I know.

There is a young marine named McConnell running against him. Anyone have knowledge or opinion on the young man? I've only seen TV commercials and haven't done any research on him yet but being a Vet gives him a large headstart to me.

Yep, I'm with you on this one.  He's served for 37 years and he has amassed a lot of power.  Bet he spends a lot more time in Washington than he does in AL.  I'm a believer in term limits.  Don't know anything about his opponent, other than he is a former Marine.

Well, we agree on this thus far.  As I recall he was a democrat until 1994, saw the light with the huge losses and became a republican.   He is now a conservative -- give me a friggin break.   Know little about the marine challenger, but will sure 'enuff have my vote.   Shelby owns the airways at this point..  too bad..

Reminds me of Strom Thurmond.  Was on the same concourse with him one day in the Atlanta airport and the poor guy was totally confused.  Really sad that they don't know how to graciously step back and let the new generation take over.

   Saw McConnel speak in Hoover at the Rainy Day Patriots meeting on the 21st.  He had a business guarding ships from  the pirates. Sounds like good training for Washington. Most impressive.  He has got my vote.

As for Shelby, his adds say he fights Oboma every day. He must be tired of loosing as they have given O everything he wishes.

 AS FOR THAT, DON"T REELECT ANYBODY! FIRE THEM ALL!

Report today is that he has $17 million in his war chest and tha Marine has a few hundred thousand....pretty tough odds to overcome.
