Is there a county dump in the area that would take additional garbage, lawn waste, and old furniture? Willing to drive to Opelika or Auburn

if there is a facility in that area.

There is a dumster set-up in Lee county at the intersection of Girls Ranch Rd and County 73 (I believe) just past the winery; however, it is only supposed to be used by Lee county residents and I believe you can be fined heavily if you are not a Lee county resident and are  caught using it.  If you are a Tallapoosa county resident, I believe you can take those items to the Advanced Disposal facility in Tallassee, or to the facility in Alex City if you are a resident of AC.

I was told Advanced Disposal in Alexander City only takes recycling items. Fayette County in Ga had a huge facility for County residents. Thanks for information. Wish Hall Co would allow if I paid double.

Isn't it ironic that in our State which probably has more problems with littering than any State in the Union you will be fined heavily if you use the wrong dumpster.  I know it has to do with jurisdictions and which governments pocket is paying for it, but I find it a bit ludicrous.  Every level of government should be doing all they can to encourage citizens to place waste in SOME dumpster!  End of rant!!  Cheers!

Until a 3 - 4 years ago anyone in Tallapoosa County could use Alex City’s inert dump for a fee, but now you have to be an A.C. Resident.  If you use the dump on 49S near Tallassee, you will be a very high fee based on weight, but everyone can use it.  The quarterly dumpsters scattered around the county on a quarterly basis is proving to be one of the best services offered by Tallapoosa County.  They can’t maintain lake roads, or pick up trash, but they do offer a place to dump junk!
