that the days are going to get pretty hot, so look out for your cainine friends.  Hot pavement can burn the pads of their feet, and they can get heat stoke just like a person.  I lost a dog to heat stoke and it really is a medical emergency.  IF you suspect heat stoke DO NOT put ice on them - but rather cool tepid clothes, in front of an fan and get them to the vet ASAP.  In heat stoke, the body temperature will rise and if you put ice on them, it will drop the temperature and put them into seizures.  Once they start to seize, it can be fatal.

Thank you Hound.  That is very important and I would like to do my anuall reminder to control your pets all week as fireworks will be going off everywhere.  I prefer to medicate mine also being they are scared of thunder so fireworks really freak them out.  Call your vet and iquire about some doggie downers if you are near where you know fireworks will be shot, please.  No need to stress the animals when you can use medicines to control it.
