My feelings exactly. It's not only the money, but the principle. I will buy no more of the stuff than I have to have when they raise prices as they are doing now. It's like being raped, what little you can do, do....the rest you just endure.
It's not worth $100 + a weekend just for gas. We'll stay on shore...

When it gets so high that I either won't or can't buy it anymore, then I will swim and pull my boat or sit on the pier and fish. One thing for sure, when it gets to that point the lake will be a lot more peaceful.

It blows my mind that these folk`s that own high doller homes on the lake complain about the price of fuel to fill up their high dollar vessels. A lot of them must live beyond their means ,or inherited something they cannot afford in the first place. But they do not complain when the value of their property goes up. Whats good for the Goose is good for the Gander.

Jim, You have made some points that may be true in some situations, and I would bet cover a minority of the Lake Martin residents and owners. I do believe that a majority of the population has worked hard and made a lot of sacrifices throught their lives to deserve what they have earned. Generally that is what separtes the haves from the have nots. Most of that population are also smart and have made wise investments that they expected to provide a return on investment.

I have posted with generalities just as you have in your post.

Feb, you missed the point, these people are complaining about the price of fuel. They have a nice place on the lake, jet ski`s,pontoon and maybe a runabout sittin at the dock, if you want to live the good life it cost money. They do not complain when they go to Oskers, Judy`s,Sinclars,The Cove and eat all them high dollar meals. why complain about the price of fuel.

So how expensive is gas on the lake? How about Alexander City?

Central Coast of California, regular gas is up to $2.17 per gallon. Premium is up to $1.43.00 per gallon. Looks like it will continue to climb through the summer season.

Oops...I meant $2.43 per gallon for premium.
