Has anyone gone to Springhouse by boat?
We have reservations to go Friday night and I just wondered if anyone has encountered any problems getting picked up at the boat slip.

We haven't, but my next door neighbors did. They said they took the cell phone and called Springhouse when they were almost there and the golf cart was there to pick them up like clockwork.

Where is Springhouse located?

Call either Springhouse or Catherine's Market and they will give you the number to call the golf cart guys. They will stay until the last 'boat slip' guests have finished dinner.

By water if coming from Veazey's when you get to Sand Island turn left towards the big blue water tower. In there to the left they have a new pier with 4 boat slips. They will pick you up there. By road I guess it is on HWY 63.

Another post has directions to the dock. If you don't pass several "no wake" buoys along the way, you are in the wrong place.

And if it is dry, don't ride in the far back seat of the cart - unless you'd like to have a dust appetizer before you get to the Springhouse...:>)

Enjoy, and let us know how it is.

Which side of Parker Creek is your place? If on the Coosa 20 side, it is a long drive to just about any of the restaurants. It oes look like there may be a way to get over to 63 without going all the way to Alex City. If you are on "our" side of PC have you ever tried it? Our drive to LMOB Saturday was really too far to make it worthwhile, but if we could cut over to 63 to go to Springhouse it might be palatable.

There is a road just before you get to Neighbor's Farm. I don't think it has a sign on it. (It's at that brick church on 259). Make a right on that road, and follow it. Make the right onto Paul Austin Rd. Follow it to Elkhatchee Rd. Turn Rt. on Elkhatchee Rd to 63 and make a right on 63. It cuts a bunch of time off the trip.

Thanks - that is what I surmised from blowing up the area map on MapQuest, but sometimes the roads aren't the greatest....will try it this weekend maybe.

I am on the opposite side of Parker Creek from you but I go Talullahhound’s route to Willow Point. No need to go to A.C. But for you to go to Harbor Docks, go 259 to Hwy 9 in Equality, left on 9 to Central, left at Central on 80 which carries you to 63. Left on 63 until you turn right on 229. Harbor Docks sign is clearly marked to turn left off 229. We go that route almost every week. Love having lunch at Red Hill Cottage Café and/or Green Valley Market & Café.

Just noticed I posted the above directions on the wrong thread. Should be under LMOB. Sorry.

We used to always use your route until we found out about the route Hound gave to Mr. Hodga. The new route is shorter for us from our place off Cossa 20. Your route through Central maybe shorter for folks off Coosa 24, Real Island and your side of Parker Creek.

All the roads by either route are decent roads, and you will see a lot of game in the late afternoon. So travel at a reasonable speed and enjoy the scenery.

Was thinking more of a shortcut to Springhouse, but good to know it can be used to go to Harbor Docks as well. We live in Fungummery, so spend a lot of time on 259/9 through Equality and Central. if a different route, through the woods, is as quick, would prefer it for the change of scenery.

Thanks to all for the info....

I think Hound's directions to you from 20 to Springhouse are also the quickest to Harbor Docks by road. You can also continue on 50 past the cutoff to Harbor Docks and get to Christophers, Niffers, and Oscars. It will be a change in scenery for you, but I suspect the 280 route from Alex City to Dadeville and then 49 to those places maybe quicker.

Christophers is a haul, but before Chritophers it was the Yellow Hammer in Waverly as the best place to go. Now that is a real haul.

You Air Force guys like the quickest way to fly. LOL Us ground pounders prefer to take one route there and a different route back to avoid ambushes.
