So with all the great comments we have heard, we headed over there last night since we are at the lake all this week and getting sick of Springhouse. But unfortunately theye were closed. Are they always closed on Tuesdays? Maybe on Thursday or Friday.

I highly recommend the " butterscotch duck ". I had never before had "duck, but this was delicious. Cannot wait to go back.

If you like a buffet and sea food in particular......I highly recommend the Sunday evening affair. I promised Mav a review of this past Sunday, so this is the short version. I won't compare to any metro Atl places, but I will say it was a very satisfying experience......the salad/soup section was well stocked to include a clam chowder and a NO style gumbo (but without okra!) The entre's included salmon, a fried fish, beef tenderloin, shrimp etteffe (sp), and crab legs plus veggies, 2 diff types of rice and baked potato. The desserts included a cobbler, a chocolate mousse kind of thing, key lime pie and pound cake with fruit and wipped cream. A good time was had by all and everyone left with a full belly with no complaints about the cost. I hope this catches on and people support them........this is a keeper if they can make it thru the winter.

What was the cost of the buffet?

When we tried to go on Tuesday we saw the sign on the Sunday buffet and it said $22.95 ... which sounds like a steal based on what everyone has said.

I think we are going to try them tonight and if we like it we will make reservations to go back on Saturday with friends that are coming over for the weekend. We are taking them to Springhouse on Friday since it is so close and they will have just driven over from Atlanta.

Are kitchens not included with houses anymore?

My wife would say no. I actually hide her Christmas presents in the oven. She would never find them there.

No, they are just for show now. No one actually cooks in them..hehehe

Actually, I cook 6 nights out of 7. I love to cook, but sometimes I like a break; and sometimes I get inspiration from what I've had when I ate out.

I like to cook too. You probabaly are like me if you cook a lot it gets harder to find restaurants that are something better or different. I still like junking around with some of the grease spots that have stuff I like.

BTW do you know of a really good sho nuff Italian & pizza joint in Auburn? Chucks is really good but not the real thing.

Or any ethnic for that matter except soul food. BTW there is a really good new one in Notasulga. Maggie-B's. Been rumored that Pat Dye eats there almost every day ;-)Try the "Mean Greens"

The place on 231 in Wetumpka has decent Italian food -- not the real thing of course, but it's not too bad. and I love pizza so next trip to Auburn, I'm going to have to look for the JAG mentioned.

Since we do not live at the lake full time, when we are there we like to relax after a long hot day and let someone else cook.
