Agree it is not a complete solution because all it does is temporarily put the money in our hands and then to insurance companies. It has to be combined with a complete repeal of ACA and replacement with new legislation that allows for true catastrophic insurance, HSA's, etc. But you have to get rid of ACA because it has a lot of provisions that make health insurance rates very high.
But it is a smart move politically because basically Democrats have put themselves on the 20 side of yet another 80/20 issue. Even they have admitted ACA is a failure but their solution is to provide subsidies for millionaires and further enrich insurance companies who have made a killing since the ACA passed.
