it is a private club, but also a large enough institution in the community that can cast it's shadow on the local economy. Seems like sexual discrimination to me. And i think you could argue that this has a negative
economic influence on specific individuals in a community. Membership in these country clubs has beneficial
economic effects because they offer businessmen the opportunity to mingle,
increase informal business contacts, and enhanced opportunities for forming new
businesses. Why would you want to
systematically exclude females from that?
