WW, I thought I responded to your post, but I guess something happened that I never pushed the submit button.
I'm not a lawyer, so I don't know about the Constitutionality of the Health Care situation. A lot of lawyers seem to think a case can be made, so we'll see where that goes.
All of the Drs. and nurses I have talked to in the last year have been in favor of some kind of health care reform. Yes, I actually ask my Drs. these things - not because of politics, but I figure that people who work in healthcare generally know whether or not there is a problem -- much more than the rest of us.
And I would imagine that there will be challenges in implementing almost anything anyone comes up with. Even if this law is not ultimately overturned, there will be amendments and probably in 10 years time, it will look quite different.
I am extremely turned off by all the animosity on both sides that surround this issue (and others). Years of experience have taught me that for any one problem, there are multiple approaches that will ultimately get us to where we need to be. I don't think anyone has proprosed a solution that is cost free and complication free. So what would make me happy now is that if both sides could just get on with the refinements and amendments, and stop insulting each other. If these are the people we elected to represent us, and this is how they act, well, what does that say about us? Call me old fashioned, but I think civility and respect have a place, and no, I don't think dignified people should have to throw around the "F" word.
