In a brilliant move that is meant to have the Postal Service running in the black this year, the Census Bureau is providing enough junk mail to choke my shredder. First, the teaser letter to let me know that I will be getting a census form to fill out, followed by the much anticipated census form itself, asking me how many people “were living or staying” in the house as of April 1. Prior to the hallowed Census Date, I received another card reminding me to return the census form so that we can have an accurate count of the occupants of this country. Because my crystal ball is still down at Cathouse unrepaired - Steve says he is waiting on parts - and I am not a fatalist with access to “The Book", I would have only two choices - fill out and return the critical survey with potentially inaccurate information, or wait until Census Date to fill it out. I chose the latter option and mailed the survey last week. Checking the mailbox yesterday, I was blessed to receive a SECOND census form…. Now, I am eagerly awaiting two MORE letters from the Census Bureau – the first to thank me for returning the completed survey and the second to tell me that since I did NOT return said survey, that I will be getting a “personal” visit from one of their thugs to knock me around and get the valuable information. Yet another example of our Government’s efficiency, see how easy it is when you always spend someone else’s money?
