The reason the Capitol Hill police didn't do anything is because it is not illegal to call people names. I can understand why he would want the reporter to document it.

What I am having a problem understanding is why some of you think this was staged? You don't believe that there are people out there who would call out racial slurs? I sat in a Russell Medical waiting room on the day after the election and heard racial slurs about Obama, so I don't know why you find it so hard to believe this happened. Or is it that you think that it did happen, but that John Lewis had no right to be outraged and hurt?

Lifer, sometimes I think you are off the wall, but I've never perceived that you are a necessarily a mean person. Don't you think it is wrong to hurl racial epitats at someone, and particularly if that person is an elected represenative?

That isn't a country I want to live in.
