So each year the wife and I have enjoyed watching a pair of aquatic turtles in our cove/slough. If you are vewy quite and wait and watch they would appear and disappear, often one atop the other. Always neat to watch them in their habitat. Very reclusive etc... this year, however, we are able to observe them while we are swimming. Their heads just pop up out of no where and then they are gone again. I guess they have gotten more brave or used to us and others as time goes by... THEN... this last weekend we not only observed another pair but an adult 'loner' and a baby or two sunning themselves on the handrail of our dock steps... WOW. I believe these are yellow or red eared sliders. Anyone else observe more 'turtle traffic'? I'm not talking about the land dwelling terrapins that hit the road after it rains but true aquatic turtles.
