Contacted Cathouse last week and picked my boat up today. There was nothing wrong with it - I just wanted an enine tune up, new plugs, lower unit oil change, etc. Since my boat is 15 years old, I asked Steve to drain the fuel tank and make sure there was no debris in it. I didn't really think about there being water in the tank - I was just looking to do some preventive maintenance. Steve called earlier and said I had a lot (approx quart) of water in the bottom on the tank. I am a fanatic about using Stabil every time I put gas in the tank but since this is probably the first time in 15 years the tank was drained, I am really not surprised now that I think about it. He suggested and I quickly agreed without hesitation to put a fuel filter in-line. Steve and Mike mounted it inside the bilge. Gonna keep using Stabil, though. As far as possible sources for the water, well condensation over 15 years is the first thought. Also, I don't run away from a good rainstorm when I go fishing (lightning, yes - rain, no) so I am sure I get some water through the fuel tank vent on the side. Also, I gotta admit that I don't watch the back wash as closely as I should when I set the boat down from being on plane - will try to be more aware of that from now on, though. Will need to replace the fuel filter once a year.

Cathouse really takes the time to make sure things are right - they want you to enjoy your boat. And, they seem to have the philosophy that they hope everything goes well with your boat, but they are there if you ever need them. That's a good outlook, in my opinion. Same philosophy my Dad had in his business for 40 years.

Thanks again Steve, DeeDee and Mike!!
