I took Mack's rant as a friendly rant....'I knew a pilot with bad genetics for cholesterol and heart disease. He was determined to overcome and ate virtually no fat and what most thought was a ridiculously healthy diet. He ran 5-10 miles a day and looked great. At the age of 45, he dropped dead from a heart attack after his morning run. My Take? When your time is up, it's up and something is going to kill everyone. I'm with Mack on moderation and enjoyment of the good things in life, because no matter what I do, something is going to get me sooner or later. Fortunately, my genetics are average or better and my levels stay reasonable if I keep my weight near where it should be for my age and height. Good luck in your fight, and I hope you can get things under control.
