Hound, all you have to do is look at the following facts and you will see it is not opinion but it is the truth. GDP from from 2000 to 2005 versus 2006-2010; annual deficits from 2000 to 2005 versus 2006-2010; unemployment rate during the same period, foreclosures during the same period, and so on. It is demonstrably factual that the economy and governement spending were significantly better when the GOP controlled the House, Senate and WH and started downhill with Democrats gained control of the House and Senate and significantly spiraled downward when the Messiah assumed office. That is a fact....look it up.

As for Bush owning the first stimulus, I remind you that it was approved by a Democrat-controlled Congress and dear leader himself actually had the temerity to vote for it rather than just saying "present". And recall that all the subsequent porkulus spending, most of which went to prop up fiscally irresponsible state and local governments as opposed to actually stimulating anything (other than the bank accounts of unions like the SIEU). So Democrats own 2/3rds of the first stimulus and 100% of everything thereafter that have given us these devastating deficit numbers and a lousy recovery.

You are right that the GOP has so far been unable to get much done but that is because they are being blocked by the WH and the Dem-controlled Senate. We will hopefully fix that in 2012. For the life of me I can't understand why you of all people who remains critical of the Bush deficits seem to approve of the current spending. So what I take from that is you are Keynsian and don't care about what is left for our children and grandchildren to suffer for as we will all be dead by then.
