This "compromise" stinks to the heavens. Again, the "cuts" are in anticipated defense expenditures over the next 10 years related to Iraq and Afghanistan. This government continues to operate without a budget. How in he!! are they cutting anything? In the event of a failure to approve the built in 2trillion dollar increase, automatic cuts are implemented in defense and Medicare. The Medicare cuts are in reduced payments to providors. In other words, if the retirees are having a tough time finding care now, wait until next year. These jackasses will spend through the first stage, then put the balance out for Congressional approval. Who would dare stand on record in opposition to the "necessary" increase knowing that the result will be dying seniors. Raise the debt ceiling. Submit a budget. Negotiate the details. Pass it, operate within it, stand on your record. If I were a member of the Tea Party caucus, I would not entertain any compromise without a 2012 budget passed and signed. If I were a RESPONSIBLE member of either chamber, regardless of caucus, I would insist on a 2012 budget in place before any consideration of a debt limit increase. This is really putting the cart before the horse and it really pisses me off. I plan to be in Charleston for the Red State gathering next week. Will probably be able to post pics of GF and the rest of the lib/prog/statist feminazis protesting outside the convention center.
